Lucilla Lopriore’s biography

Associate professor in English Language and Translation at Roma Tre University, she taught English in Italian schools from 1977 to 2001.Graduated at Roma ‘La Sapienza’ University, she completed an MA in TEFL, at Reading University, UK in 1997 and a PhD in Italian as a foreign language, at University for Foreigners, Siena, Italy, in 2000. TESOL Italy President (1996-1998), TESOL Intl. Board of Directors Member (2001-2004),TESOL Intl. Research Committee member(201-2016). ELiE Project Italian coordinator (2006-2010).

She has worked extensively as a teacher educator in pre- and in-service courses in ELT (PSLS, ProgettoLingue 2000, SSIS, TFA, PAS), CLIL (methodology university courses), Italian as a foreign language, educational linguistics, assessment and evaluation; she has designed blended training courses.

A course-book writer, she has published general (middle and high school) and ESP English course-books(vocational schools) and numerous research papers on early language learning, ELF, ESP, assessment and teacher education. She is the Editor of PERSPECTIVES. A Journal of TESOL Italy. Organiser of the 6th ELF Conference in Rome, she is one of the organisers of SLEdu and REYLL conferences to be held at Roma Tre University in November 2015. Her main research interests are: ELF, CLIL, teacher education, assessment, terminology, subtitling and early language learning.
